Free 4-minute self-assessment

How ready is your business for AI?

Your employees are already using AI, whether or not anyone approved it. Twelve questions show where that leaves you: a readiness score, six areas graded, and the three things to fix first.

  • Leadership & Risk

What the six areas mean

  • Governance & Policy: whether there is a written list of approved AI tools and an acceptable-use policy that staff have actually acknowledged.
  • Data Protection: whether people know what never goes into a prompt, and whether technical controls back that up on company devices.
  • Visibility & Shadow AI: whether you know which AI tools are in use today, including the AI features vendors have switched on inside software you already pay for.
  • Secure AI Tooling: whether the business runs on a business-licensed AI plan with single sign-on, data-training opt-out and proper offboarding, instead of personal accounts.
  • People & Training: how many staff have had formal AI training, and whether there is a way to capture the time savings they find.
  • Leadership & Risk: whether leadership has defined what AI should accomplish, assessed the risks, and planned for when something goes wrong.

Why this matters now

Most AI incidents at small businesses are not sophisticated. A contract gets pasted into a free chatbot for a summary. A patient list goes into a personal account for cleanup. An AI note-taker joins a meeting nobody vetted it for. None of that requires a hacker, and none of it shows up until a client, an auditor or an insurer asks.

At the same time, the businesses that set up AI correctly are saving real hours every week. The gap between the two groups is rarely budget. It's whether anyone wrote the rules down, turned on the controls they already pay for, and trained the team.

What happens when you ask for the written plan

  1. We review your answers and the tools your business already uses.
  2. You get a written 90-day plan within one business day: the policy, the controls to switch on, the training, and the order to do them in.
  3. If you want us to do the work, we tell you the price up front. If not, the plan is still yours.

Questions we hear

Frequently asked questions

Don’t see your question? Call us and a real person will answer.

Who is this assessment for?

Owners, office managers and practice administrators at businesses with roughly 8 to 150 people. You don't need any technical background. If you can answer 'do we have a written policy?' and 'do staff use personal ChatGPT accounts?', you can finish it in four minutes.

Do I have to give you my contact details to see my results?

No. Your score, the six area grades and your three priorities appear on this page as soon as you answer the last question. The contact form at the bottom is optional, for people who want us to turn the results into a written 90-day plan.

What happens with my answers?

They stay in your browser unless you ask for the written plan. If you do, we store your answers with your contact record so the plan is specific to what you told us. We never sell or share your information.

Our staff aren't really using AI yet. Is this still relevant?

Almost certainly yes. In every business we've looked at, someone is using ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or an AI feature built into a tool they already have. The assessment starts with visibility for exactly that reason.

We're a healthcare practice. Does this cover HIPAA?

It covers the AI-specific part: whether patient information can reach AI tools, whether the tools you use have the right agreements and settings, and whether staff know the rules. Pair it with our HIPAA compliance checklist for the full picture.

What does the written plan cost?

The plan itself is free. For managed clients, doing the work is included in their plan. For everyone else, we quote a flat project price in the plan before any work starts.
